    Saddle My Horse

You ever wish you were back in the good old days, where you could say "Ma, I'ma get me a wife today" and she'd reply "Be back by supper".

When you could saddle up your horse, ride to the neighbors and say "Sir, I'd like to marry your daughter."
And he'd say "What have you to offer me?"
I'd reply "two pigs... and this county fair winning goat".
He'd return "You drive a stiff bargain, but that's a mighty fine goat.  Betsy, have a good life".
Gratefully, I'd say "Thank you sir, I'll take good care of 'er."

And then we'd ride back to my ranch, I and her soon to be married.  Back massages follow, but nothing is forced.
The succeeding country life is serene; what could have been is not thought about for this is all we know.

Supper is mashed taters and chicken.  It would have been pig, had I not traded those two away.
    It was worth it.

    Good old days indeed.

    Death By Zombie

A quick glance at views shows the article about plaid shorts being the most viewed in a long time.  Not sure what to think of that

Long before nuclear fallout and robots enslave mankind, the world will be overrun by zombies.
I would image for the right person, it would be simple.
Lets look at the brain as if it were a computer.  Wiping a hard drive and attempting to reprogram from scratch would be a pain, namely because programming would need to be done in assembly (0s and 1s).  However, for a skilled person, it certainly wouldn't be impossible.  However, if you were to leave a little of the backend around, it would become much easier.

In the movie Osmosis Jones, we see that clearly, the human desires are well within the editing range of foreign contamination.  All one would have to do would be to change said addictions to blood, hunger for guts, and love of all things dead and wa la, zombie army to do one's bidding.

I'm not the first to see this coming.  We've seen it in all the video games.  The Onion recently did a news story covering our chances of survival:

Are Violent Video Games Adequately Preparing Children For The Apocalypse?

If this doesn't happen, the only acceptable way for the world to end via a black hole.

I, for one, welcome our new brain dead zombie overlords.

  • This week on Dizzy: College...

Have you ever felt like your life is some TV soap opera for some higher species?  Sometimes, I feel like things couldn't possibly happen on their own accord.  There's an announcer in the background:
This week on Dizzy: College:  Watch as the newly fraternized N. Dizzy goes balls to the wall and crazy.
I'll even do things to appease my audience and generate interest.
Why else would I talk to myself?  Hello?
I guess I'd be the zany guy, who is valued for his wisdom and respected for his individuality.
...It'd probably be a chick flick.

Being stuck in the friends zone sucks.
It's true college cultivates a higher mind.
    ...For some people.

Much restructuring to come in the next few weeks.  Hopefully for real this time.

    Newly 19,
    -Dizzy.

    "Clutivated"

I've been catching a lot of flack lately from people annoyed with the fact that I know little about recent and modern pop-culture.  Be it movies, music, or attire, I think people are embarrassed they associate with someone who doesn't know his stuff.  I gotta be honest: I don't care.

When I think of stuff like that, I'm just not interested in it, and at this point, I ask myself the question "How will this knowledge ever benefit me?"  The words of one of my favorite songs by Gym Class Heroes, Petrified Life and the Twice Told Joke [which is now conveniently playing], come to mind:
So what do I do? I resort to TV
In the seemingly lousy attempt to numb myself
    With lackluster images
And insignificant information like "Willis was really Ty Bridges"
Just to have the upper hand in monotonous conversation
When you think of it, a lot of talk is trivial, but most talk isn't made for the sake of conveying information.  Rather, talk acknowledges and establishes a bond with another.  Just as long as you don't say something stupid and make a fool of yourself.

I've heard a lot of people saying things like "I hated my high school", including recent Aquinas grads.  I still look back on high school as a great experience.  When I hear things like this, it begs the question 'Was high school really that bad or did you just hate who you were in high school?", the latter almost always being the case.  It's interesting; no matter how much you think the popular crowd in HS were a bunch of douchebags, you still kind of long for that status.

The way people are making names for themselves in college can be laughable.  Like the jump from grade school to high school, people are reinventing themselves.  In some cases, this is the real them coming out.  In others, they're just trying to be the type of person everyone loves.  It seems to be the case that more often then not, people are making negative changes to their persona  in the process, myself included.  I thought all the juvenile stuff was behind us.  I thought college was supposed to encourage people to be who they are.  Hum...

I'm not judging.  I can't judge.  I'm in the exact same boat.  I'm just sayin'.

Hats off to everyone who thinks differently.
    Peace Out.

  • Home

Thank God for opportunities to return to the basics to get things in order.  College kicks ass, but I need to get away and prioritize.

Regardless of what they say, freshman year is the same whether in college or high school.  It's a time of indecision and trying things out.  In facing the new environment, you may find out something you didn't know about yourself.

    I've done some stupid things.
    But who hasn't?

It's nice to know I have 3 homes.  I've got my dorm, my house, and my fraternity.

    Take care,
    -Dizzy out
